The story of RESIDENT EVIL centers on a Police Special Tactics and Rescue Squad (S.T.A.R.S.) that vanishes in a remote location, which has been recently plagued by bizarre disappearances and deaths. A sister team arrives to investigate the disappearance and is quickly forced to run for shelter by an assortment of ghoulish creatures. The only safe haven to be found is an eerie old mansion that turns out to be filled with the same creatures they were running from. The greatest game...

I've never played the PC version, it can't be that much different from the PS. This was one of the first games I played on Playstation. I got Playstation for Christmas when I was 17. I heard this game was good so I checked it out. And I've been a gamer ever since. It completely hooked me on games and especially the genre of survival horror. From Silent Hill to Fatal Frame, the original Resident Evil has them all beat. I think the original has been surpassed by RE4 and RE2 was excellent, but there's always something about the original. Who would ever think that a video game could cause someone to jump out of their seat. And what an impact this had on my friends, get this, I'm playing this game with about 8 other college students in my dorm room and we're all glued to the tv; the girls are screaming their heads off and the guys are having a blast. Ok, the voice acting is terrible, but so are most horror movies. Turn the lights off and the stereo up and you won't be disappointed. Every door has a different scare behind it.
